Teachers in the traditional language classroom use different teaching aids like pictures, tapes and video when teaching a foreign language.   Computerized learning provides an environment where text, translation, video, graphics, sound, games, animation and recording devices are linked and amalgamated to create a rich multi-sensory real-life environment which facilitates easy and quick language comprehension. The keyboard, mouse and the microphone provide an interactive environment with feedback from the computer.

The learner is able to record his voice using microphones connected to the computer and compare his pronunciation with that of the program instructor who is a native speaker of the language being learnt.  The learner’s pronunciation is played back, analysed and evaluated on a benchmark while a meter on the screen measures and records his performance.
